Loopic and SPX Graphics continue their partnership to build modern, flexible HTML graphics workflows.
The Rise of HTML Broadcast Graphics
Being a first adopter of every new technology is often challenging, as anyone who has experimented with new technology can attest. One of the latest advancements is HTML broadcast graphics, representing a modern, flexible, and powerful solution for TV graphics systems, regardless of production budget. Today, everyone has a powerful rendering engine in their pocket—their mobile phone. This highly efficient and powerful technology is increasingly being utilized by the TV graphics industry, as demonstrated by both Loopic and SPX Graphics.
Streamlining TV Graphics Development with Loopic
When we first started developing TV graphics using HTML technology, we were pretty much left just with with our preferred coding tools. While this was cool and flexible, it was also an expensive and time-consuming process. No one wants to spend hours or days creating simple animated graphics, let alone the complex, multi-step templates. Thankfully, Loopic now helps speed up this process, making the development and deployment of templates a breeze—a single mouse click. Creating graphic templates becomes significantly easier and faster when you can style them visually rather than coding everything manually. The next version of Loopic (version 2.1) will introduce powerful new features like scaling, rotation, and gradients, further enhancing the design process.
SPX Graphics: Pioneers in HTML Graphics Playout
SPX Graphics provides web-server and controller interfaces for template management and playout. Whether using vMix, OBS, CasparCG, or other platforms, SPX Graphics serves as the central hub for launching these templates. We added support for SPX's template definitions from the early days of the Loopic project, with a mission to make building templates for the SPX system as easy as for other HTML graphic systems.
With the Loopic 2.1 release, we will introduce the Template Definition Builder interface. This tool will enable you to create rich template definitions for your projects without writing a single line of code, including JSON manifest files. The builder interface will fully support SPX's Template Definition standard, allowing you to use all the possibilities that SPX offers.
Tuomo Kulomaa, CTO and founder of SPX Graphics: "The new Template Definition Builder in Loopic is an awesome and a welcomed addition to an already great tool used by many of our customers. This new feature enables more and more traditional broadcast designers to jump into HTML graphics creation and can start publishing production ready templates for SPX and other compatible systems in no time - and without any coding!"
IBC Accelerators 2024
In addition to the cross-integration between Loopic and SPX, we collaborated with industry peers to develop a standardized HTML graphics workflow in the IBC Accelerators 2024 project called "Evolution of the Control Room - Leveraging XR, Voice, AI & HTML-Based Graphics Solutions". Both Loopic and SPX fully support this initiative, which aims to create a unified interface for HTML graphic templates. This will streamline the entire graphics creation and playout process, making it more efficient and modular.
Loopic 2.1 Release Date
Loopic 2.1 is launching this September, but if you're attending IBC 2024 in Amsterdam, you can schedule a meeting with us to get an exclusive first look at the new features, including the improved SPX integration with the Template Definition Builder!
